“So, Parson,” she said with a snippy tone, “I guess this Sunday will be like last year.”
“What do you mean, Gwen?” the parson asked.
“The Sunday worship after Vacation Bible School usually turns into chaos since you’ve come.”
“Gwen!” responded the parson. “What in the world do you mean?”
“You know what I mean, Parson. Last year you had all those kids jumping up and down and singing that praise song they learned at VBS. The year before that you had them doing the bunny hop with you down the center aisle.”
“I did,” confessed the parson.
“So, what’s going to happen this Sunday?”
“I don’t know Gwen, but you shouldn’t miss it. It will be a blast.”
Gwen sort of snorted and started walking away.
“Hey, Gwen,” called the parson, “would you like the words to the song ahead of time?”
